**Course Goals: **Students will continue to build algebra skills, study trigonometric functions, and improve their ability to reason mathematically in order to pursue higher –level, Calculus based courses.

** **

**Course Description:** This course will apply the student's knowledge of functions and real numbers to an in-depth study of polynomial, rational, logarithmic, exponential, and trigonometric functions at a rigorous pace. The study of trigonometric functions will lead into the study of vectors, complex numbers, and polar equations. A study of sequences, series, and conic sections will complete the course.

REQUIRED: Successful completion of Honors Algebra II and teacher recommendation.

Tests: 45% of grade

Quizzes: 25% of grade

**Trigonometric Functions:**Students will graph and transform the six trig functions, use trig identities to evaluate, verify and solve trig equations, use Law of Sines and Cosines to model and solve application problems using non-right triangles.**Trigonometric Extensions:**Students will analyze and graph polar functions, represent vectors graphically and analytically, model and solve application problems using vectors.**Sequences and Series:**Students will recognize, write and determine n-th terms of arithmetic and geometric sequences, find and evaluate series, model and solve application problems.
